『エヴァンゲリオン』シリーズの総監督である庵野秀明氏の出身地である宇部市。
JR宇部新川駅がモデル地の一つとして登場したことをきっかけに
スタートした、宇部市まちおこしイベント「まちじゅうエヴァンゲリオン」。

2021年開催の第１弾から2025年開催の第５弾まで、「まちじゅうエヴァンゲリオン」は幅広いお客様にご支持いただき、
「ロンギヌスの槍」彫刻や「エヴァの手」彫刻など、宇部市ならではのモニュメントも発表となりました。

今年は「宇部のまち、覚醒！」をテーマに、
「宇部まちじゅうエヴァンゲリオン2026」として開催いたします。

「宇部まちエヴァ2026」だからこそできる、『エヴァンゲリオン』の世界観と宇部市の魅力が詰まった数々の体験にご期待ください。

Ube City is the birthplace of Hideaki Anno, Chief Director of the “EVANGELION” Series. The citywide revitalization event Machijuu EVANGELION (“EVANGELION All Over Ube City”) was launched after JR Ube-Shinkawa Station served as a model for one of the locations featured in the series.
From its first edition in 2021 through its fifth in 2025, Machijuu EVANGELION has been warmly received by a wide range of visitors. As part of the event, two sculptures unique to Ube City have been unveiled: the “Spear of Longinus” sculpture and the “EVA's Hand” sculpture.
This year, Ube Machijuu EVANGELION 2026 will be held under the theme “Ube Awakens!”
Visitors can look forward to a wide range of experiences unique to Machijuu EVANGELION, bringing together the world of EVANGELION and the distinctive appeal of Ube City.
